The Rotary Club of Parker, Cherry Creek Valley Rotary & the Parker Task Force Partnership

The Rotary Club of Parker and the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary of Parker recently put together a grant for the Parker Task Force with some last minute funding. This testimonial received tells it all! Thank you Rotary and Parker Task Force for the services you make possible.

Dear Parker Rotary,
My family and I want to extend a huge thank you. We have been having a bit of a financial struggle over the past few months and we recently have turned to the wonderful services offered... by the Parker Task force.
Today we had to bring our utility bills in because we could not afford to pay them. Our water bill alone was $248.00 because we were so far behind and it was going to disconnect.
Because of the Rotary donation, they were able to help us get current with our bill and keep us from an additional $80 reconnect fee on top of the money we already could not afford.
We want to let you know how much it means to us. Sometimes you give and never know what your gifts actually do. We want you to know how you truly helped us. Thank you. We are in total gratitude.
Message From Rotarian Scott Gough
We want to hear about the projects and grants you are involved in with our Rotary Club.  Many of our Rotary members are engaged in service activities on an ongoing basis.  It's not unusual that months, if not years, go by without updates or progress reports on the significant contributions so many make to the local community, and through national and international organizations.

We will begin to offer an opportunity to provide Project Progress Updates (PPU) on a regular basis.  As you know, we schedule Vocational Talks (VT) on a (roughly) quarterly basis.  We will give those who want to provide project updates time to do so during a VT meeting.  We can usually handle one, maybe two, project updates during these meetings.  To do so, please limit your project update talk to no more than 10 minutes.  You can think of them like Specials in terms of time and placement in the meetings.

We will begin PPUs on the 13 Oct and 15 Dec VT meeting dates. They will be scheduled on a first come/first serve basis (although the President retains the right to adjust their schedule as necessary). Please contact Program Chair Scott Gough if you would like to present a PPU on these dates.

This is not to say you can't update the membership on projects during other meeting dates.  However those updates will need to be fit in, where they can, with other specials that must also be scheduled.  This new process just guarantees a time slot will be reserved for PPUs.

Thanks!

Scott Gough, Program Coordinator

End Polio!
If you have not done so already, please see Lew Million to donate to End Polio.  Lew will continue to accept donations for the next two weeks.  And if you have already contributed, please consider giving a little more if you can.  Every little bit helps!

WE’RE ZEROING IN ON THE POLIOVIRUS

It's been over three years since we've seen Type 3 wild polio in the world, which means that this particular strain has most likely disappeared forever.
