Join us for some maintenance of the sensory garden at Praying Hands Ranch! It's time to do some weeding. This event will also include the opportunity for a brief tour of Praying Hands Ranch with an introduction to their mission as a therpeutic riding center. Dress grubby, bring a pair of work gloves, and get ready to get down and dirty. No previous gardening experience is needed. We will need a variety of gardening tools, particularly weeding tools and clippers. Please be sure your name is on any tools that you bring. Located just north of the intersection of Mainstreet and Canterberry Parkway, this 72-acre site was conveyed to the Town by Douglas County in 2016. The property includes a conservation easement, held by Douglas Land Conservancy, allowing for minimal improvements that are designed to protect the long-term open space values of the site. Uses allowed per the existing conservation easement include soft-surface trails, interpretive signage, gravel parking lot with up to 20 spaces, picnic shelters, tables, benches, one restroom facility, wood fencing, plus a maximum of two historic structures. The District Governor will be visiting all five Area 4 clubs on August 31, 2022. This will be held at Rocky Vista University in Parker between 5:00-7:00 p.m. The meeting will be picnic style with hot dogs, brats and buns provided. The University has confirmed that it will be BYOB beer and wine. The meeting will be potluck for all. Please mark this on your calendar so the club has a good turnout. To RSVP for yourself and guest(s), either click on the button to the left or email Harold McCloud at president@parkerrotary.org The normal morning meeting of August 25 will be cancelled and replaced by the District Governors visit. The Rocky Mountain Santa's Convoy of Toys will also be represented at the Governor's visit. This organization provides disaster relief along the front range for the children. Santa's Convoy of Toys is requesting members consider bring a $10.00 or up gift card from anywhere to help with their work. |
