Delegates Visiting the Rotary Club of Parker from the Ukraine.
The Rotary Club of Parker hosted delegates from the Ukraine last week from September 10 - 18.  Members of the Ukraine delegation included: from left, Maria Ibrahimova, Olena Tretiak, facilitator, Yulia Hurtova, Nelia Maslova, Natalia Holovata, Tanya Lukenbill, interpreter, and Oleksi Pydochenko.

1) - Nataliia Holovata – Age 29, divorced, 6-year-old son
Position: Head of Department of Energy Conservation, Investment & Municipal Development, Dolyna City Council, Ukraine.
Number of people in the organization: 21– 50. Directly supervised by Natalia: 10
Work: Coordinates implementation of sustainable energy development; responsible for attracting investments & establishing
international & inter-regional connections.

2) - Yuliia Hurtova – Age 30, single
Position: Deputy Head of the Dept of Energy Mgt, Municipal Initiatives & Investment, Municipal Property Administration of

Work: Monitors consumption of energy resources by budget-funded organizations; develops & implements projects in energy savings

3) - Nelia Maslova – Age 34, married, 8-year-old son
Position: Junior Research Fellow, Institute of Renewable Energy, Natl Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Ukraine.

Work: Works on problems of production & use of biological types of liquid motor fuel; develops methods for optimizing the
production of biofuels from non-edible raw materials to reduce emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.

4) - Oleksii Pydochenko – Age 29, married, no children
Position: Director of the Dept of Energy, Transport & Communications, Vinnytsia City Council. Ukraine.

Work: Coordinates gas, water, electricity & heat distribution enterprises of the city, with a focus on efficient
management toward a high quality system of utilities, public transportation & communication services.

5) - Mariia Ibrahimova - Age 26, single
Position: 1st Category Engineer, Institute of Renewable Energy, Natl Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Ukraine.
Work: Studies & implements energy conversion/accumulation from renewable sources; researches the hydropotential of small rivers
and works on upgrading hydropower transformation installations

Rotarian, and chief organizer/champion of the Open World Ukraine visit, Alvaro Pisoni, did an excellent job in coordinating the event and creating a memorable event for delegates and Rotarians alike.  Pictured below, St. Alvaro is an angel for all of his hard work and obvious dedication (looks like he may have been visiting the VS store during a shopping excursion and judging by the second photo, looks pretty wore out.  You go above and beyond Alvaro!).

Rotarians Support the Parker Task Force
 
Thanks to all Rotarians who worked this Saturday's food collection for the Parker Task Force. 82 boxes of food were collected with $608 in cash and $160 in gift cards. These numbers point to a very successful food drive. Again, thanks to all!!

Congratulations to Bryn Pellowe,  Chaparral High School Student of the Month .  Rotarian Dave Gardner presents Bryn with her award.  Bryn's mom, Sharon is also pictured. 
September Social
The September Social Evening (5th Thursday - September 29th)
will be at EL TRIO Mexican Restaurant at 9205 Crown Crest Blvd. (it is on the way to the hospital,
just beyond Chick Fil A.)  Happy Hour 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.  This is a new restaurant in the space,
and they say they are, "The best Tequila Bar in Parker."
 
Be a Bookworm
The Douglas County Library at Parker is  hosting a bookworm.  This is a human chain moving our last books from our old building to the new building-on Saturday September 24th 9-11 a.m.

Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI)
This workshop is perfect for any Rotarian who wants to learn more about the larger world of Rotary, and build the leadership skills for future leaders of Rotary at the Club and District levels.
The fee for each course is $40 which will be reimbursed by the Rotary Club of Parker so all of our Rotarians have a chance to attend.  This covers breakfast, lunch, and course materials.
There are three courses that build upon one another.
