an address by Parker Mayor Jeff Toborg

We had two terrific guests on Thursday, April 21: Nikki Brooker, founder and CEO of You Are Not Alone -- Mom to Mom, and her therapy dog Brady, who was generous in spreading some love around the room.
Thank you to Lisa Neal-Graves, who does a fabulous job of arranging our speakers.
We welcomed the Afghan family that our club will sponsor as guests to our March 24 meeting. The most pressing need right now is work – we are looking for job opportunities in Parker. If you have any leads on jobs, please let Tim Hayes, Alvaro Pisoni or Jim Muir know.

Congratulations to Brady Barrow, the April Student of the Month for Ponderosa High School! The focus of Brady’s involvement at Ponderosa has been through theater and related activities. She started the Speech and Debate Club and currently serves as co-president. She is also the Varsity Captain of the Improv Troupe and has lettered twice in theater. As a staff member commented, “Brady is very passionate about theatre and the community it creates. I have enjoyed watching her continue to grow as an actress, singer, and comedian.” She also participates in Link Crew, National Honor Society and No Place for Hate at Ponderosa.
Brady also serves the larger community, with 100 hours with Colorado State Thespians and additional service with St. Baldricks for childhood cancer and Meals on Wheels.
Brady plans to attend Depaul University in Chicago, Illinois to study Comedy Arts (comedy writing, directing, and acting) with a possible minor in psychology. We wish you all the best in your special mission to bring laughter, Brady!

We welcomed Brad Gadomski into our club as a transfer member on April 21. Brad and his family recently moved to Colorado from Chicago. Brad works as an investment advisor, but his passion is Rocky Mountain vintage car racing. He works on and races his 1986 BMW at High Plains Raceway. (Some of us older members were wondering how 1986 can be considered "vintage.")
The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards are back in person for summer 2022! RYLA (for high school students who are currently a sophomore, junior, or senior) and Young RYLA (for students going into eighth grade) are week-long youth leadership conferences in Estes Park. The Rotary Club of Parker sponsors students to attend so that there is no cost to participants. Our sponsorships are open to youth living in Parker.
