Avery Hendrick has had a varied career of service in high school, including working as an election judge on Election Day and leading a group of elementary students through a three-day outdoor education camp at Stone Canyon.  She has earned the Gold Award in Girl Scouts.  Avery has run cross country and track all four years of high school.  Avery is ranked third in a class of 329.  Her particular passion is for writing: she has taken creative writing three times in high school and participated in National Novel Writing Month since eight grade.   She currently serves as an editor for the Ponderosa student newspaper.   She hopes to attend college at Northwestern or NYU to study journalism, dramatic or creative writing.  She would eventually like to work as a reporter or editor for a magazine or newspaper.  Best wishes, Avery!
