Committees that make a difference
October 4th Meeting will be at BOONDOCKS
where we will feature a Special Service Committee Club session.  Here are some thoughts for an agenda:  This is an awesome opportunity for you to hear about all the projects and activities our club is doing.  This would be a good meeting to invite guests so they can learn what we do and how they could join our club and take part in any of the projects!

     - Each Committee Chair will present a brief (3 minute or so) update on
their group's activities so far this Rotary year
     - Each committee will hold an on-the-spot committee meeting during the
breakout portion of the Club meeting
     - Each committee will provide a brief report-out at the end of the breakout
       session

Help A Boy Scout Succeed!

HELP A SCOUT SUCCEED!

As a Rotary Club project we can help Boy Scout Troop 16 of Parker succeed in its mission to develop the character of a young man. Be a Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor. Please go to https.//www.scouting.org and search "merit badge" and you will get the list of 156 merit badges to evaluate.  Each badge has a pamphlet to follow to insure that the requirements for the badge are met. The youth, and his buddy, must  meet you at a convenient time and location. Next week I will pass the clipboard so you can indicate first, that you will counsel, and second, which badges. To those who agree to serve  I will send Troop Sixteen's Scoutmaster Elect, Nate Smith's, email to me with a link explaining how to become a counselor.

Rotarians are about "service above self". Please consider counseling a young man so he can succeed?

Questions are welcome. Please call me at 303-453-9067

Thank you, Mike Oldham, former Scoutmaster.

Now Accepting Nominations for the State of the Town Impact Award
Here is a snapshot of the qualifications for our Parker Impact Award:  First an individual or group that exemplifies the Rotary Motto:  “Service Above Self”.  The nominee(s) must be Parker residents, or someone who provides exceptional service to the Parker Community.  The action the nominee took or provided cannot have been honored by another organization.   Examples are  compassionate actions, humanitarian actions, life-saving actions.
Nominations may be submitted by anyone (need not be a Parker Resident to make an nomination).  If I have the luxury of having 3 or 4 nominees, historically we have awarded only one award with the notable exception of 2016 when we made two awards.  My intention is to make a minimum of two awards going forward, and I’d like to reserve the right to make more if that is justified by a number of extraordinary and deserving nominees.
The Annual State of the Town will be Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Business Networking 11:00 AM - 11:3- AM, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM :Luncheon/Program.  The event will take place at the Vehicle Vault, 1830 Lincoln Meadow Pkwy, Parker, CO  80134.  Tickets and sponsorships are available.
