In Memoriam -- Carl Hanson

Jim Muir reminds us that there will be a memorial service for Carl Hanson, co-founder of Praying Hands Ranch and an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Parker, on Monday, September 18 at 2:30 p.m. at Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church.  Please let Jim know if you plan to attend -- the family would like an idea of how many to expect.

Help Grant a Child's Wish -- Let's Fill the Claw Machine!

We had a presentation from Make a Wish Colorado a few weeks ago.  Now we have the opportunity to contribute to their mission of granting a child's wish.

There is a claw machine at the offices of Make a Wish where kids who are there to discuss their wish have the chance to ease the visit by choosing a toy from the machine.  We get to help fill the machine with toys for kids of all ages.  Need ideas?  Check out the photo above!  The only criteria is that the claw in this machine is not huge, so the toys have to be from 3"-6" wide.

Last chance -- Bring your contributions to the Rotary meeting on September 21.  Let's fill their claw machine to overflowing!

Thank You, Peach/Pear Purchasers!

Rotary organizer Carl Finamore with Taylor, Nash helping load peaches.

We are grateful for the support of the Parker community with our peach/pear fundraiser.  We are also grateful for the Rotarians who helped distribute the peaches/pears on August 26.  A special shout-out to Rotarian Kyle Winders, whose two kids, Taylor and Nash, were the best helpers any organization could hope for.  Taylor met cars and checked off orders, while Nash helped ferry fruit to cars.  Thank you!

Project C.U.R.E. August 2023

Another evening of sorting medical supplies at Project C.U.R.E.!

Double-Header for the Task Force

We took part in TWO projects during the week of August 14 to support the Parker Task Force.

First, on Wednesday, August 16 a crew helped pack meals that will eventually serve 4000 people.  Here is part of the crew dressed in our protective finery!

Then on Saturday, we were stationed at the King Soopers at Stonegate to solicit contributions to the food drive.  The final tally for our location was

  • 62 boxes of food
  • $442 in cash and $145 in gift cards
  • 28 packages of chicken
  • 52 packages of hamburger
  • 21 gallons of milk
Thank you to all who helped on that hot day!  And thank you to the Parker community for your generosity in supporting the Parker Task Force.
