Did We Mention that Parker Uncorked is Coming Up?

That’s right – only six weeks to go!

We have the opportunity to spread the word at three Parker events this month: the Farmer’s Markets on September 18 and 25, and the final Wine Walk on September 30.  We need people to hand out flyers at these events, and to stuff cards into wine glasses at the Wine Walk.  For more information or to sign up, please click on the links below:

Thank you to the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club of Parker, which is sharing their shift at the Wine Walk to our benefit.

Thank you -- Peach Sale a Success

Thank you to everyone who was involved with selling peaches/pears this year -- whether you helped distribute this past Saturday, or spread the word among your friends.  We sold over 300 boxes, and will net about $4400 for club projects.  Way to go!

What to do with All Those Peaches?!

As part of our mission of Service Above Self, we are offering you the service of suggesting some recipes that can turn that box of peaches into cobblers, chutneys, pies, etc.  Click here to access the club documents in ClubRunner, then scroll down through the Current Club Documents until you reach Fundraising Activities.  There you will find a subfolder called Recipes Peaches and Pears.  You're welcome!

By the way, if you have a recipe you'd like to add to the list, email a copy to Susan Gustin at webmaster@parkerrotary.org and she will get it added to the documents.

Welcome Kelly and Justin

We have welcomed two new members to our club in the past few weeks: Kelly Birner and Justin Reyher.

Memorial Service for Shirley Hanson

Shirley Hanson’s memorial service was Saturday, August 20 at Praying Hands Ranch. This is Carl Hanson’s favorite picture of her. The service was marvelous with warm loving tributes from her family and friends. Shirley led a life of love for everyone. Her love inspired innumerable people to create and work at Praying Hands Ranch for decades providing love, care and hope to disabled children and their families.

Our club has been active at Praying Hands for most of its life, interwoven with the beauty and hope of this place nurtured by Shirley’s tireless devotion to others. Carl and Shirley have been honorary members of the Parker Rotary club for many years.  The Ranch continues.
