Student of the Month for Chaparral High School 2019-20
Congratulations to the Students of the Month from Chaparral High School for the 2019-2020 school year!

Caleb Covak is a Renaissance man with interests in the arts and athletics.  He enjoys the visual arts, music and writing – he serves as a writing tutor for other students.  Caleb also plays basketball and is on the track team.  He has served on student government and has lettered academically all four years.   Caleb plans to attend Grand Canyon University to major in advertising and graphic design.  Best wishes, Caleb!

Congratulations to Megan Arnett, the Chaparral High School Student of the Month for December.  She was joined at the Rotary meeting by her father, Matt Arnett, and sister Courtney.  Megan is currently president of the student body at Chaparral.  She serves as a Link Crew Commissioner, helping to oversee the 170 members of the Link Crew.  She is vice-president of DECA and runs the Chaparral Family Fund which provides for students and staff in need.  She also has served as a writing tutor for two years.  Megan has lettered academically all four years of high school.  Megan hopes to study epidemiology at an East Coast university.

We are honored to introduce Morgan Riddle, the Chaparral High School Student of the Month for November!  Morgan has served in student government at Chaparral all four years and is currently Student Body Vice President.  She serves on the Link Crew and as a writing tutor for underclassmen.  Morgan plays on the Chaparral Varsity volleyball team that won the 5A state championship earlier in November.  She has also lettered academically all four years.  She plans to attend college at the University of Northern Colorado.

Jenson Zaugg is the student of the month for October for Chaparral High School.  Jenson has served the Chaparral community as a member of the Link Crew and by working as a writing tutor for underclassmen. He sings with Amplitude, a 16-voice jazz choir and Con Brio.  He has been on the varsity cross country team all four years and also runs track.  Jenson has earned the Eagle Award in Boy Scouts – his project was to work with volunteers to photograph and digitize grave markers at Fort Logan National Cemetery.  Congratulations to Jenson!

We are happy to honor Sydney Brown as the Student of the Month for September for Chaparral High School.  Sydney is a member of three choir groups at Chaparral and is an integral part of the school’s theater program. She played a lead role as Christine Colgate in the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels this past spring.  She has served the Chaparral community by volunteering as a writing tutor for underclassmen and serving as a member of the Link Crew. Sydney has academically lettered all four years and is a member of the National Honor Society.  She plans to attend college with a focus on music, vocals, song writing, or music therapy. Her top college choice is Belmont University in Nashville, TN.  Congratulations, Sydney!
