We were happy to welcome Emily Meyers, the February Student of the Month for Chaparral High School to our February 24 meeting.  Emily serves the Chaparral community in a wide variety of roles.  She is currently an officer in DECA and FBLA, and serves as a captain of the Speech & Debate team, where she mentors younger students.  She is on the Link Crew, with a focus on welcoming and mentoring special needs students.  Emily is approaching 400 volunteer hours while at Chaparral!  In addition, she recently placed first at the Continental B league diving competition as part of the Chaparral Girls’ Swim & Dive team.   As one of her teachers noted, “Emily is an amazing face for Chaparral HS” and another commented that  “Emily has an extraordinary ability to empathize with others. Her compassion and commitment to selfless endeavors have made her a source of comfort to many at Chaparral.”

Emily plans to attend CU Boulder to major in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences.  We wish you the best in your future endeavors, Emily.
