At our October 13 meeting we welcomed two students who the club had sponsored for RYLA and Young RYLA in summer 2022: Jackson (Jack) Coleman from Ponderosa High School and Anna Finkbiner from Sagewood Middle School. It was wonderful to hear their glowing reports of the experience! Jack and Anna are pictured here with their families and Rotarian Sue Garwood, who coordinated the selection process for the Rotary Club of Parker.
Every year the club sponsors a number of high-school and middle-school students for RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards). which enables the students to attend without cost to their families. RYLA is a 6-day summer program to teach youth leadership skills; it typically takes place at a camp in the Rocky Mountains. You can be part of the process of spreading the word about RYLA – do you have kids, grandkids, friends, neighbors who would be good candidates? Let them know! Information about RYLA 2023 will be available in the new year at https://www.rmryla.org
