Welcome!

We have had the opportunity to welcome four new members into our club over the past few months.  Please introduce yourself and get to know them!

From the left: mentor Gail Lehrmann, Lisa Matthews, Jim Boyd

Lisa Matthews is a former member of the Northglenn/Thornton Rotary Club (2021-24) and has asked to join our Rotary Club of Parker as a transferee.  She has come as a highly regarded asset by her former Rotary Club.

Lisa graduated from UCLA with a BS in Political Science and then from the UCLA Law School in 1993.  She worked for Los Angeles County Counsel where she represented social workers who took abused and neglected children out of their homes.  Lisa took 10 years off to raise her children, and then taught grades 6-7-8 in an area Catholic school until moving to Parker. In her spare time, she loves to play golf.

Kevin Anderson

Kevin Anderson was born in Gettysburg, South Dakota and grew up on a farm helping his family grow wheat, barley, rye, cattle, sheep, and chickens. He attended South Dakota State University, where he received degrees in music and engineering.

As an engineer, Kevin has worked in various positions with Emerson Electric and Motorola.  In the latter, he worked in sales and marketing, occupant safety operations, analog products, and free scale semiconductors.  More recently, he has worked as an analyst providing market forecasts/analyses and as a strategic consultant.  He continued being a professional musician (accompanist, band leader, and performer on piano and other keyboard instruments) until he retired recently.  He currently enjoys golfing as a hobby and camping in his motor home with family members.

From the left: Sue Garwood, Donna Wren, Jim Boyd

Donna Wren was born in Myerstown, PA very near an Amish community. While in high school, she was interested in music and community theater. She played the part of Sandra Dee in the musical Grease and was in other plays including Bye Bye Birdy and The Musical Man.  In her senior year, she represented her hometown Rotary Club as an Exchange Student to Venezuela.

Donna graduated from Penn State University with degrees in sociology and criminology with a minor in Spanish. She then attended law school at Ohio Northern University on scholarship and was elected for law review. She received a Fulbright Scholarship and studied in Spain one year.  She began her law career in Philadelphia in a business firm but found that she did not like security law. For two years, she worked in mergers and acquisitions. Glaxo-Smith-Kline (GSK) provided her with an opportunity to focus on transactions and licensing medical products. FMC, a chemical company, provided an experience to use her Spanish skills for the next four years as she traveled to Argentina and dealt with lithium mining. She and her family moved to Colorado in September 2020 where she works remotely from home as an attorney.  Her hobbies include playing the piano, skiing, and golf.

From the left: Jim Boyd, Greg Howell, mentor Ron Beller

Greg Howell was born in Red Bluff and raised in Shingleton, California. He earned a BS in Business Administration with a focus on marketing and accounting from the University of the Pacific’s Eberhardt School of Business.

Professionally, Greg is a retirement communication strategist specializing in education and engagement for defined contribution retirement plans - currently in the government markets. Over the past 25 years, he has held leadership positions at Empower, Transamerica Retirement Services, Great-West Financial, and T. Rowe Price where he has developed strategic communication initiatives to support retirement plan participants.  He enjoys history, travel, writing, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Thank You, Sponsors

The Rotary Club of Parker had a sponsor-appreciation event on Tuesday evening, June 3 at Mile High Harley Davidson of Parker.  Here club president Sue Garwood thanks Jim Anest of CORE for their long-term support of the club.  It was a lovely way for club members and sponsors to get to know each other.  Many thanks to Mile High Harley-Davidson, one of our sponsors, for hosting this evening!

Welcome, New Board!

Thank you to all who have agreed to serve on the Board for the 2025-2026 Rotary year!  We are excited for the new directions you will take us...
